Canon Print Service on Canon PRINT Inkjet and SELPHY

Canon Print Service is a mobile application developed by Canon, designed for users to print files directly from smartphones or tablets. Available for both Android and iOS devices, the app works exclusively with Canon wireless printers. To ensure smooth printing, both the smartphone and the Canon printer must be connected to the same wireless network.

The app allows users to easily adjust print settings such as the number of copies, paper size, and color modes directly from their device. Supported paper sizes include ledger, legal, letter, A3, A4, A5, B4, and B5. Canon Print Service offers a user-friendly interface, making it simple to print documents and photos without needing additional printer-specific software. Users can choose between black & white or color prints based on their preferences.

On devices running Android 7 or later, Canon Print Service is automatically activated after installation. For Android 6 and earlier versions, manual activation is required. To do this, go to “Settings,” select “Print,” and enable Canon Print Service.

Steps to Print Using Canon Print Service

  • Install Canon Print Service.
  • Connect both the smartphone and printer to the same WiFi network.
  • Open the app and select the file from your documents folder.
  • From the menu, select the “Print” option.
  • Review the printing settings.
  • Click “Confirm Print” to start the printing process.

Canon Print Service supports more than 20 languages and is compatible with most Canon wireless printers, including inkjet, laser, and business multifunction models. Users can print PDF documents and configure advanced printing options such as two-sided printing, 2-on-1 printing (two pages on one sheet), and borderless printing. For larger print formats like photos or banners, borderless printing is ideal, while 2-on-1 printing helps conserve paper.

Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY App for PIXMA, MAXIFY, and SELPHY Printers

Canon also offers the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY app, designed specifically for PIXMA, MAXIFY, and SELPHY printers. The PIXMA series is known for its high-quality photo printing, scanning, and fax capabilities, with the PIXMA Pro series tailored for professional photographers and graphic designers.

The MAXIFY series, aimed at small businesses, features high-speed printing with low running costs. These printers offer two-sided printing and can hold up to 500 sheets in the paper cassette. Text prints from MAXIFY printers are sharp, crisp, and resistant to highlighters and markers.

The printers can send notifications for issues or when manual actions are required, and administrators can set up email alerts and password protection for added security. MAXIFY printers also support Apple AirPrint, enabling direct printing from Apple devices without additional software.

The SELPHY series, on the other hand, excels in portability, making it perfect for users on the go. These printers feature built-in batteries and produce high-quality prints with a protective film coating that resists dust, water, and color fading. Up to eight smartphones can connect to a SELPHY printer simultaneously, allowing users to create photo collages on the go.

Both the Canon Print Service and Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY apps support Bluetooth and NFC connections, making setup easier for compatible printers. If you have multiple printers on the same network, the app will default to the last used printer, but users can easily switch printers via the app’s configuration settings.

Choose the appropriate app based on your Canon printer model, whether it’s Canon Print Service for wireless printers or Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY for PIXMA, MAXIFY, and SELPHY models.
