How to register to Vote in the US

The US election day is on November 3rd 2024. This election will result in the determination of next US president.

The election process can be done through online or in-person. The absentee ballot are available for people who are not available for vote on the election date.

Requirement for presidential election

  • Be a US citizen
  • Be 18 years old by election day
  • Meet the states requirements (Each states requirements will be different)

Before voting the people needs to register to vote inorder to make the voting possible. Post the registration, anyone can easily find the polling location and casts their ballot.

The people who are outside the United States needs to complete Federal Post Card Application (FPCA) inorder to complete absentee voting process. The FPCA is both the registration and absentee ballot request form.

The voting can be done in 3 ways,

  • Vote Early – Allows you to cast your ballot in person.
  • Vote by Mail – Complete and share the Mail Ballot Request Form to use this option without in-person presence.
  • Vote on Election Day – The polls open at 7:00 am and close at 7:00 pm and cast the ballot.

When the registration is complete, you will receive a voter registration card. This card confirms you are registered and ready to vote. Inorder to vote, you need to carry required original personal ID card.

The President and Vice President will take their respective oaths of office on Inauguration day January 20th 2025.
